Counseling/psychotherapy for foreigners in Brazil

For some years I lived abroad, first in Uruguay, soon after I lived in SriLanka and more recently in the United States, as well as I visited several neighboring countries. The contact with different cultures was great wealth for my personal life and, arguably, for the understanding of the human being, professionally.
In Sri Lanka, I had the opportunity to write articles for a local magazine, in which I discussed about relationships, behavior, conflicts and contemporary anxieties. So, I got a direct communication with the readers who suggested me the issues to be addressed in the articles, thus bringing up their personal conflicts.
In the United States I could act directly on the psychological counseling in non-governmental institutions. Patients brought me a variety of conflicts, although the focus was on working with single mothers.
My experience as a foreign, as well as my frequent contact with foreigners, also made me consider the difficulties of being in an unfamiliar country and without our references, either the place, the customs, the people, the language, etc. The barriers for adaptation are immense and complex, they are even worse when we go through personal conflicts at this time, it can be an aggravating factor, as well as the complications in finding a professional who speaks our language and understands us.
Thus, after many eyars of experience as a psychologist and counselor in Brazil and abroad, I assist immigrants with emotional problems and in the adaptation process. The sessions ocur in English.
